Over $22,000 Raised in Chicago for Wounded Ukrainian Soldiers

In Chicago, during a charity event at the St. Joseph the Betrothed parish, $22,550 was raised for the treatment and prosthetics of seriously wounded defenders of Ukraine. The collection was organized by the Revived Soldiers Ukraine team with the support of the local community.

This was reported by Revived Soldiers Ukraine.

“Together, we raised $22,550 to support the treatment and prosthetics of seriously wounded Defenders of Ukraine,” the post says.

As reported, representatives of the organization attended four liturgies during one day at the church where the charity collection was held. The support of the parish and clergy, in particular Father Mykola Buryadnik and the Heroes’ Protection Foundation, played a significant role in its implementation.

In particular, the president of Revived Soldiers Ukraine, Iryna Vashchuk-Disipio, spoke to the faithful, who spoke about the organization's activities, the results of the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers, and the importance of each contribution for their recovery.

It was also noted that the event was attended by Ukrainian soldiers undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. They shared their own stories of struggle and thanked the community for their support. Among them were servicemen from various units Ivan Holyk (80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade), Andriy Pylypchuk (3rd Assault Brigade), Taras Orel (82nd Separate Airborne Assault Brigade), Artem Borysenko (151st Separate Mechanized Brigade), as well as Vitaliy Ivashchenko, who recently arrived in the United States for prosthetics. The event was also joined by a doctor from the Main Military Clinical Hospital of Kyiv, Colonel Andriy Samoilenko.

“Every donation, every prayer, and every kind word becomes part of the great journey of recovery for our defenders,” the post notes.

According to the organizers, such initiatives demonstrate the unity of Ukrainians abroad and allow wounded soldiers to have a chance at a full life after their injuries.

“It is thanks to such unity that our soldiers get a chance at an active life,” the organization summarized.
