Tech Explorers Charity Evening Raises $110,000 for Ukrainian Children in Washington

The Tech Explorers “Shaping Tomorrow” charity evening was held in Washington, D.C., during which $110,000 was raised to support Dignitas Ukraine’s educational STEM programs for Ukrainian children and adolescents. The event brought together representatives of business, the technology sector, diplomacy, and civic initiatives to support the future generation of Ukrainians.

This was reported by the organization Dignitas Ukraine.

“Thanks to this amazing community, we raised $110,000 to support children in Ukraine. The evening was full of unforgettable moments,” the post says.

As reported, the event was organized by the Washington law firm Searby PLLC. The charity evening had a comprehensive format and combined fundraising, expert discussions, an art program, and performances by participants in educational initiatives. Representatives of the innovation community, civil service, and the international community joined the event.

In particular, the central event was a public conversation with the participation of retired General David Petraeus and CNN journalist Kimberly Dozier, during which they discussed issues of global security, support for Ukraine, and the role of education in the country's reconstruction.

Special attention was paid to the demonstration of the achievements of Ukrainian children participating in the Tech Explorers program. They presented their skills in the field of technology, including drone control, which became one of the brightest parts of the evening.

It was also noted that an important element of the program was a curatorial auction of contemporary Ukrainian art. Among the works presented were works from regions currently under occupation, which added symbolic meaning to the event and emphasized the resilience of Ukrainian culture.

“This night showed what is possible when people unite to support the next generation,” the post notes.

According to the organizers, all funds raised will go towards the development of the Tech Explorers program from Dignitas Ukraine. It is aimed at children and adolescents, particularly from military families, and provides access to modern technological education, practical classes and development of skills in the STEM field.

“Although the organization is only three years old, it is the result of more than a decade of systematic work to create something strong and pure. Its founders are the driving force of the post-Maidan movements and truly the best of the best… This weekend’s anniversary in Washington, D.C. was a powerful confirmation of what we already knew: this is not just the right thing to do – it is vital. And it is not just about Ukraine anymore. The situation requires us to be smarter, bolder, faster and stronger than ever,” said Maria Dmytriv-Kopenyak, president of the Illinois chapter of the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America (UCCA, Illinois).

It is also emphasized that such initiatives have long-term significance, as they are aimed at investing in Ukraine’s human capital and forming a new generation of technology professionals.

“The Tech Explorers fundraising evening brought together people who understand that education does not stop in the most difficult times. Every dollar raised goes directly to STEM programs for Ukrainian children. Thank you for being with us,” added Dignitas Ukraine.

Background

The development of technology programs by Dignitas Ukraine is part of the organization’s broader strategy. Since its founding as a non-profit organization in the United States, it has consistently expanded its areas of activity – from training in FPV drones to the development of ground robotics and counter-hostile drone programs.

In particular, in 2023, training for FPV drone operators was launched, in 2024 – the ground robotics direction, and in 2025 – training programs for Shahed counter-drone operators and the Freedom Sky initiative, which is already recognized as important not only for Ukraine, but also for other countries.

According to representatives of the organization, these projects cover both military personnel and veterans, as well as children, who receive new opportunities for education and development in the engineering field.
