
The United States has announced a new $500 million aid package for Ukraine, including air defense systems, ammunition, artillery shells, and anti-tank systems. This marks the 72nd aid tranche since August 2021, aimed at addressing Ukraine's urgent needs in its fight against Russian aggression.

"Today, the U.S. Department of Defense announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), designed to meet critical security and defense needs. This is the 72nd equipment tranche provided by the Biden administration since August 2021. Valued at $500 million, the package includes air defense systems, ammunition for rocket and artillery systems, as well as anti-tank weapons to address Ukraine's most pressing needs", the statement reads.
The announcement outlines a broad range of military equipment and supplies, including ammunition for counter-drone operations, HIMARS, 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, HARMs anti-radiation missiles, unmanned systems, MRAP armored vehicles, light tactical HMMWV vehicles, and Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems. The list also includes TOW missiles, small arms ammunition, demolition equipment, protective gear, spare parts, support equipment, training, and vehicles for military operations.
"The United States will continue working alongside approximately 50 members of the Alliance and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and related capability coalitions to meet Ukraine's urgent battlefield needs and protect against Russian aggression", the Pentagon emphasized.
