Christmas Eve in San Francisco
On December 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church (345 7th St., San Francisco, CA) will host the Celebration of Christmas Eve, a traditional Ukrainian Christmas event organized by the local Ukrainian community.
The event will begin with a service at 6:00 p.m., followed by a community dinner at 7:00 p.m. in the church hall. Christmas Eve will be celebrated according to Ukrainian traditions: the table will be set with 12 meatless dishes, symbolizing the 12 apostles. Guests will be treated to kutia and dumplings, and are encouraged to bring their own prepared Lenten dishes.
Christmas Eve is a great opportunity to unite, feel the spirit of Christmas tradition, and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of peace and spirituality. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Please note that this is the last day of Lent, so alcohol is not allowed at the event.

Christmas Miracle at the Palatine
On December 29, at 2:00 p.m., the Ukrainian Youth Association Center (CYM, 136 E Illinois Ave, Palatine, IL) will host a unique theatrical performance of the Nativity Scene "Christmas Miracle" in the Great Hall of the CYM Palatine Ukrainian Youth Association Center (136 E Illinois Ave, Palatine, IL). This is a unique performance that combines Ukrainian Christmas traditions, community talent and collaborative efforts to create a festive atmosphere.
The organizers, Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, CYM Palatine, have prepared a rich program featuring actors from Vitaminka Pro's "KinoMaliatko" Circle, the Angelic Children's Choir, the Bohdan Plishka Church Choir of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church-Palatine, the Ukrainian Youth Union named after Col. Dmytro Vitovskyi, and the Ukrainian Folklore Studio "Ethnos" (Iskra Dance School).
This event was created on the initiative of the Parish of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Palatine.
