Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Calls on NATO to Provide Ukraine a Clear Path to Membership

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) has called on the North Atlantic Alliance to provide Ukraine with a clear path to NATO membership and to expedite critical security assistance.

This was reported by Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.

"The time for hesitation is over - our security and freedom are at stake," said the organization, which represents nearly two million Americans of Ukrainian descent.

The UCCA stressed that for nearly three years, Ukraine has been fighting Russia's genocidal aggression on its own, effectively defending NATO's eastern flank. The war waged by the Kremlin threatens not only Ukraine's territorial integrity, but also the entire rule-based world order.

"Russia's aggression is not just a war against Ukraine. It is a challenge to the entire democratic community, undermining international law and the stability established after the Second World War," the UCCA said in a statement.

The organization recalled that Ukraine is a key player in NATO's security and that uncertainty and indecision only encourage the enemy. Therefore, it is necessary to make a strategic decision on Ukraine's accession to NATO, as it will strengthen transatlantic security and stability.

"Ukraine is already making an invaluable contribution to European security. Its membership in NATO will only strengthen the Alliance's defense capabilities," the UCCA said.

The call for Ukraine's swift determination as a future NATO member came amid ongoing hostilities and the need for expanded international support to deter Russian aggression.
