UNWLA of America calls on US Congress to restore military aid to Ukraine

On 3 March, US President Donald Trump ordered the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine, despite the fact that these funds had already been approved by Congress. The Ukrainian National Women's League of America (UNWLA) called on the US Congress to act decisively and publicly to restore aid to Ukraine.

This was reported by UNWLA.

"A unilateral and abrupt end to military assistance to Ukraine would not only have a devastating impact on the Ukrainian state, but would also undermine the reputation of the United States and the trust of its allies that has been built over 80 years. This is not peace through strength. It will not make America great again. On the contrary, it demonstrates the weakness and unreliability of the United States, which only plays into the hands of its adversaries: Russia, Iran, North Korea and China," the statement said.

The UNWLA stressed the importance of preserving the political norms, international alliances and security stability that have sustained the United States since the end of World War II.

The organisation also called on Congress to immediately restore both military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine to prevent negative consequences for global security.

"We cannot allow the destruction of the international order that has been maintained since World War II. Support for Ukraine is support for democracy and freedom," the UNWLA said.
