Meetings were held in the states of Oregon and Washington to expand support for Ukraine and establish sister-city relations between local communities in the U.S. and Ukrainian cities. These initiatives aim to promote cultural exchange and create new formats of cooperation in humanitarian, educational, and social spheres.

Specifically, the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, Dmytro Kushneruk, made a working visit to the state of Oregon, where he held a series of meetings with the mayors of Gresham (Oregon) and Vancouver (Washington) – Travis Stovall and Anne McEnerny-Ogle.
During these meetings, they also discussed the possibility of establishing sister-city relations between American and Ukrainian cities. Such partnerships have already proven effective in strengthening cultural ties and opening new opportunities for cooperation. Another meeting with Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez focused on discussing further support for Ukraine at the U.S. government level.
Additionally, Ukrainian veterans undergoing rehabilitation and prosthetics in the U.S. under the Protez Foundation program had the opportunity to meet with representatives of local police and fire departments. Special gratitude was expressed to Gresham Police Chief Travis Gullberg for his personal support of Ukrainian defenders.
It is worth noting that these cities provide comprehensive support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian-American communities, which are actively developing in these states. Therefore, special attention was given to the Ukrainian diaspora. The community not only supports Ukrainians in their homeland but also helps integrate newcomers into the local environment. The Ukrainian-American Cultural Association plays an active role in uniting the Ukrainian community and supporting initiatives aimed at helping Ukraine.
