Ukraine House in Washington, D.C., hosted a festive Easter egg painting master class. The event brought together diplomats, artists, families with children, and anyone who wanted to participate in the Ukrainian Easter tradition, which carries deep symbols of life, hope, and love. Participants had the opportunity to create their own Easter eggs under the guidance of talented artisans.

"Our tradition of painting Easter eggs - pysankas - continues to resonate with friends from all over the world. Creating one's own Easter egg is a deep and touching process that symbolises life, hope and love - values that are particularly important to Ukrainians in difficult times," the Ukraine House said in a statement.
The event was reportedly opened by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova. The event was also attended by Ambassador of New Zealand Rosemary Banks, Head of the Polish Mission to the United States Bogdan Klich, diplomats from the embassies of Armenia, Slovakia, Morocco, Portugal and Finland, and representatives of the US State Department.
Led by Iryna Piontkivska and artisans Sofia Kachur, Oleksandra Senik, Victoria Trotska and Oksana Kapovska, the participants learned about the history of Easter egg making and created Easter eggs themselves, from appliqué to traditional wax and dye painting.
The youngest participants, aged 4-8, made holiday cards, painted Easter bags and decorated eggs with appliqués, while the older participants, aged 9 and over, learned traditional wax and dye painting. The children also had the opportunity to take part in a fun outdoor Easter egg hunt.
“We were delighted to see so many bright smiles and excited faces at our Easter egg decorating workshop. Your presence made the celebration even more special and filled the room with warmth and joy" said the organisers.
