The signing of the Agreement on the establishment of twinning relations between the state of Colorado and the Volyn region of Ukraine took place in Washington. The document establishes nine priority areas of cooperation and opens up new opportunities for interregional partnership.

The agreement was signed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Deputy Head of the Volyn Regional State Administration Denys Denischenko during an official ceremony in Washington.
During the event, the parties emphasized the importance of developing interregional cooperation, exchanging management experience and best practices, as well as deepening interaction in the fields of education, economy and business. The agreement became a testament to the solidarity of the American state with Ukraine and confirmed the role of international partnership in strengthening the security and economic stability of the regions.
“Today’s agreement consolidates a strong bond between the state of Colorado and the people of Ukraine. This partnership opens up opportunities for the exchange of best practices and cooperation between government agencies, educational institutions and businesses. As a sister state of Volyn, Colorado supports Ukraine and is convinced that international cooperation makes us stronger,” said Jared Polis.
For his part, Denys Denischenko thanked the government and people of the United States for their consistent support for Ukraine and emphasized the practical value of the new agreement for the region.
“The partnership with the state of Colorado creates a solid foundation for long-term cooperation, the development of interregional ties and the implementation of joint projects important for the economy and communities of Volyn,” he emphasized.
The document identifies nine priority areas of cooperation: energy sustainability and clean technologies; agrotechnology and modern food processing; sustainable development of forestry and woodworking; digital transformation and the IT sector; logistics and transport infrastructure; circular economy and waste management; healthcare and rehabilitation; education, innovation and human capital development; art and culture.
Denis Denischenko emphasized that the agreement is not only a symbolic gesture of support, but also a clear roadmap for cooperation. According to him, the partnership with Colorado opens up opportunities for the exchange of experience between universities, business and communities, as well as for attracting technology and investment to the region.
“It is important for us that each point of this agreement turns into real jobs, new equipment in hospitals and modern technologies at our enterprises. This is evidence that the world believes in our future, and Volyn is becoming a reliable platform for international investment,” the deputy head of the regional state administration emphasized.
The signing of the document opens a new stage in Volyn’s cooperation with partners from the United States and creates a practical basis for the implementation of joint projects aimed at the long-term development of the region.
