Global politics is increasingly intertwined with energy, technology and security. The US is increasing sanctions pressure on the Russian energy sector and at the same time trying to stabilize world markets. Ukraine is opening its allies access to unique combat data for the development of military artificial intelligence. At the same time, control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP remains one of the key issues in future negotiations to end the war.
The US has stated that sanctions against Russia will not be eased
The United States continues its policy of energy separation from Russia and does not plan to ease sanctions against its energy sector. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright also reported, that Washington is working to expand its own uranium enrichment capacity. In particular, new centrifuges are being installed in Ohio, and the construction of two large plants is being prepared. According to Wright, together with European partners, the United States will be able to completely abandon Russian enriched uranium.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that sanctions against Russian oil will remain in force even in the event of fluctuations in world energy prices. He explained that temporary decisions on supplies are related only to the need to stabilize the market, and not to concessions to Moscow. According to him, some of the Russian oil is currently at sea awaiting shipment, in particular to China. Wright emphasized that the United States remains the world's largest producer of oil and gas and continues to move towards energy independence.
The United States assured that temporary exemptions from sanctions will not benefit Russia
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant saidthat the temporary easing of sanctions on Russian oil will not bring significant financial benefits to the Putin regime. According to him, this is only about oil that is already at sea and cannot be quickly redirected to other markets. This decision was made to stabilize global energy markets against the backdrop of the tense situation in the Middle East. The US Treasury Department has allowed individual countries to temporarily purchase these volumes in order to avoid a sharp jump in prices.
Bessent emphasized that the Russian government receives the bulk of its energy revenues through taxes at the production sites, so transactions with oil that is already on the way will not bring Moscow significant revenues. He also noted that the increase in world oil prices may be a short-term phenomenon. In the long term, according to the minister, it may even bring economic benefits to the United States.
Ukraine opens access to combat data for allies to train military AI
Ukraine has begun providing allies with access to arrays of combat data for training artificial intelligence models used in unmanned systems. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov also reportedthat a special platform has been created for this purpose, which allows training algorithms without disclosing sensitive information. It provides partners with access to large sets of photos and videos collected during combat operations. According to Fedorov, Ukraine has a unique data set that has no analogues in the world.
These archives contain millions of tagged images obtained during tens of thousands of drone combat missions. They allow algorithms to recognize equipment, human behavior and various objects on the battlefield. The Ukrainian side expects that cooperation with partners will accelerate the development of new autonomous systems that can be used in the war against Russia. Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky also stated that the army is increasing the pace of creating unmanned systems and forming units to intercept enemy drones.
US and Russian delegations meet in Florida
A meeting of US and Russian delegations took place in Florida, also reported by US special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The Russian side was represented by the Kremlin's special representative and director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev. The American delegation also included Jared Kushner and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum. The meeting took place on March 11 and, according to Witkoff, the parties discussed a number of issues.
The report states that the delegations agreed to stay in touch and continue contacts. At the same time, no details of the content of the negotiations were made public. The publication also did not mention the topic of Ukraine. The head of the Russian delegation Dmitriev shared Witkoff's message and thanked the American side "for a fruitful meeting."

Control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP has become a key factor in negotiations to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. Experts saidthat returning the plant to Kyiv’s control is of strategic and economic importance. According to their estimates, the resumption of the Zaporizhzhia NPP could turn Ukraine from an importer of electricity into an exporter. Russia seized the plant in early 2022 and has kept it in a suspended state since then.
Experts also express concern about the state of maintenance of the station under Russian control. Its safe operation requires significant amounts of electricity and water, which creates additional risks in the event of a disruption to the infrastructure. In future negotiations, the issue of nuclear security may become one of the key issues. Experts also discuss what support the United States and international partners should provide to Ukraine to protect its nuclear infrastructure.
