In the US capital, at Ukraine House, a large-scale exhibition of Easter eggs is underway, uniting two unique collections and telling the story of Ukrainian culture through generations, diaspora and war. The exhibition is open to all and will last until the end of April.
This was reported by Ukraine House.
The exhibition's exposition presents over 3,200 Easter eggs from all regions of Ukraine.
The central part of the exposition is the story of Maria Jaresko, a woman born during forced labor during World War II.
“Her collection is not only art, but also evidence of the difficult fate of Ukrainians in the 20th century,” the organizers note.
Maria Jaresko has collected over 1,200 Easter eggs, combining the traditions of the Ukrainian diaspora with her own travels to Ukraine after 1991.
Also on display is the collection of her daughter, Natalia Yaresko, a former Minister of Finance of Ukraine, who has collected over 2,000 Easter eggs.
“This collection demonstrates the cultural richness of Ukraine even in times of financial challenges and war… Together, these collections are more than just examples of traditional art; they are a tribute to the power of our heritage, which we value and want to share with others,” Ukraine House emphasizes.
The organizers emphasize that the exhibition remains open to visitors until April 30 and call for participation in the preservation of Ukrainian heritage.
