The Philadelphia Archdiocese of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church held a strategic working session on April 22, 2026, dedicated to the development of evangelization and the definition of further pastoral priorities. 138 clergy, monastics and laity took part in the event, some of whom joined online.
This was reported by Archeparchy of Philadelphia.
As reported, the meeting began with the Divine Liturgy, during which the Metropolitan emphasized the need to integrate faith into everyday life and the joint responsibility of the clergy and laity for the mission of the Church.
It was also noted that the participants of the session analyzed the results of the implementation of the archdiocese's strategy for 2021-2024 and identified key areas for further development. Among them are evangelization, communication, pastoral life, and effective resource management.
It was also noted that the session presented achievements in social and humanitarian service. In particular, the “Healing the Wounds of War in Ukraine” fund has already distributed over $11.3 million to support relevant initiatives.
In addition, the archdiocese continues to expand its communication presence, including through digital platforms and bilingual media, as well as develop educational content for a wider audience.
According to the participants, an important direction is the activation of parish life and the wider involvement of the laity in church initiatives and responsibility for community development.
“We are the Church of the Ukrainian tradition for all people,” the metropolitan emphasized, emphasizing the openness and missionary focus of the archdiocese.
In the second part of the event, the participants worked in groups to develop new approaches to evangelization and determine practical steps for their implementation in parishes.
