In Washington, D.C., Ukraine became one of the key participants in the AI+ Expo, showcasing its technological developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, drones, cybersecurity, digital governance, and reconstruction. The central theme of the Ukrainian program was the transformation of innovations created during the war into global technological solutions of the future.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States and U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC).
The Ukrainian program within the framework of the AI+ Expo was entitled “Innovation Under Fire: Lessons Learned from Ukraine” and brought together government officials, technology leaders, innovators, and business representatives.
The keynote speech at the event was delivered by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Olga Stefanishyna. She emphasized that today Ukraine is not only fighting for freedom, but also forming one of the most dynamic innovation ecosystems in Europe.
“Ukraine is not waiting for the future. Ukraine is already building it,” Stefanishyna said.
The ambassador also emphasized Ukraine’s role as a reliable technological partner for the international community.
“If you are looking for a reliable partner, choose a Ukrainian one. It is very well proven,” the diplomat noted.
During the “AI+ Expo,” the Ukrainian side presented developments and experience that emerged under the pressure of a full-scale war and are already of global importance. The focus was on artificial intelligence technologies, drone systems, cybersecurity, digital governance, smart infrastructure, and solutions for crisis response and resilience.
As part of Ukraine Day, discussions were held on the topics of technological dialogue between Ukraine and the United States, the future defense of allies, battlefield technologies, and the use of AI for the reconstruction and demining of Ukraine.
Speakers included Stanislav Prybytko, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine; Kristian Pryk, Ambassador of Estonia to the United States; Stanislav Hryshyn, co-founder of General Cherry FPV; and representatives of Ukrainian and American technology companies. The event was opened by Joe Wang, Vice President of the Special Competitive Studies Project; and Valeria Kushnerchuk, Executive Director of Diia.City Union.
The panel discussion “AI for Recovery and Demining in Ukraine,” organized by USUBC, attracted special attention. It was moderated by Nadia Khomazyuk, Vice President of the organization.
During the discussion, participants discussed how artificial intelligence technologies are helping Ukraine analyze the scale of destruction, assess risks, accelerate demining, ensure transparency in reconstruction, and coordinate infrastructure projects.
Dmytro Ovcharenko from Alcor emphasized that the reconstruction of Ukraine will require not only financing, but also a strong human resource base and the integration of global talents.
Julia O’Connell from Dignitas Ukraine presented technological training programs for veterans, amputees and youth. The topic was drone operator training, robotics and AI education as the basis for the formation of a new inclusive economy.
Nina Sharayevska from Softengi presented an autonomous AI agent that helps audit and control reconstruction processes through the analysis of documents, photos, videos and regulatory requirements. According to her, such solutions increase the transparency and accountability of reconstruction projects.
Oleksandr Vainer from UADAMAGE🇺🇦 demonstrated AI damage assessment, drone reconnaissance and mine hazard mapping technologies that allow for more effective reconstruction planning and analysis of the extent of contamination of territories with explosive objects.
