On the final day of the Summer Olympics, a Requiem was held in New York City to honor the memory of the 488 Ukrainian athletes and coaches who died as a result of the war. The street performance not only honored the memory of the dead, but also became a high-profile way to draw the world's attention to the terrible losses caused by the war. This was reported by local activists.

Ukrainian activists organized a performance in Times Square in which "bloody" participants held Olympic rings and posters, and medals and cups painted with red paint were scattered on the ground around them. This art installation was a requiem for the Ukrainian champions who died as a result of Russian aggression..

This action was part of the mission of Ukrainian activists abroad to draw attention to the crimes of the terrorist country.

"Sometimes the world looks, but does not see. That is why our mission abroad is to find our own way to be heard and seen and to be a true reminder of the real crimes of the terrorist country", wrote activist Ganka.

The commemoration took place on the 900th day of full-scale war, when the memory of those who could have fought for medals, but fought for their lives, was especially relevant.
