Donald Trump's team has a “solid plan” to end hostilities and start peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
This was announced by the US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg on the air of Fox News.
According to him, the United States understands the importance of ending the war.
“I think we have a good, solid plan to move forward, to start talking and working on it,” Kellogg said.
He also noted that Donald Trump “knows where to push and where not to push” and is ready to create leverage for both Ukraine and Russia.
“We are analyzing what levers of influence can be applied to ensure that the US president has the opportunity to succeed. This should not drag on for years. We need a short-term solution that will suit both sides,” he explained.
According to the Special Representative, a ceasefire is possible in a period of months, not years.
Earlier, US Chargé d'Affaires at the OSCE Catherine Brooker said that Washington is ready to increase pressure on Russia with sanctions, tariffs and other measures if the Kremlin does not start negotiations to end the war.
