Ukraine has made a significant leap in the medal standings at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, moving up to seventh place. On the sixth day of competition, Ukrainian athletes nearly doubled their gold medal tally.
Over the course of the day, 50 sets of medals were up for grabs in 13 sports, including football, boccia, goalball, archery, equestrian, swimming, table tennis, shooting, volleyball, basketball, athletics, tennis and fencing.
Ukraine won its first medal of the day in wheelchair fencing: Olena Fedota-Isaeva won bronze. Throughout the day, Ukrainians won 10 medals, four of which were gold. Athletes Oleksandr Yarovyi (shot put), Yulia Shulyar and Natalia Kobzar (400 meters) and swimmer Yuriy Shengur became champions.

Gold: Yuriy Shengur (swimming, 100m backstroke, class S7), Yulia Shulyar (athletics, 400m dash, class T20), Oleksandr Yarovyi (athletics, shot put, class F20), Natalia Kobzar (athletics, 400m dash, class T37).
Silver: Andrey Trusov (swimming, 100m backstroke, class S7), Daniil Chufarov (swimming, 200m individual medley, class SM11), Igor Nimchenko (swimming, 100m butterfly, class S10).
Bronze: Oksana Boturchuk (athletics, 400 m, class T12), Maxim Koval (athletics, shot put, class F20), Elena Fedota-Isaeva (wheelchair fencing, sabre, category B).
This performance brings the total number of medals won by Ukraine to 45.
