A concert of the Ukrainian band "Cultural Landing" took place in Washington, D.C., marking the beginning of the second stage of the tour of the creative project of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time the tour will cover the southern part of the United States to acquaint Americans with Ukrainian culture and express gratitude for their support of Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukraine House.
"The Cultural Landing is back with the American Appreciation Tour. Starting in New York and Washington, D.C., they will travel throughout the southern United States to thank Americans for their continued support of Ukraine. The seven talented artists - Mykola Serga, Taras Stolyar, Olga Rukavishnikova, Yuriy Ivaskevych, Sashko Bul, Mykhailo Oliynyk and Lyubov Shipilyuk - will perform a mix of Ukrainian frontline songs and world-famous compositions, bringing our two nations closer together to become stronger in the fight for our common values" , said Ukraine House.
The band's concert at Ukraine House was part of the 2024 Strategic Consultations, which brought together pastors and bishops of U.S. Christian churches, members of the Ukrainian Christian community, leaders of charitable organizations, chaplains, businessmen, and a delegation from Ukraine, including mayors and governors. The group's primary mission in Washington is to meet with members of Congress, think tanks, and religious leaders to provide an update on the current situation in Ukraine and to express heartfelt gratitude for American support.
Mykola Serha, founder and director of Cultural Landing, also noted that the main message of the music tour is to thank Americans and representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora for their support of Ukraine, and to remind them what the Ukrainian nation is fighting for, as the American information field is saturated with elections.
"The more there is talk, the less there is action. But for us, action and real support is important, because many people are dying every day in Ukraine, and this is our most important capital, the backbone of Ukraine's future", Serga said.
Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, recalled that the Cultural Troop is a creative unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that includes world-class artists who were professional musicians before the war and are now serving in the military.
"Ukrainian professional musicians who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and were injured while defending Ukraine decided to support the Ukrainian military by giving concerts at the front, in military hospitals, in rescue units and in the occupied Ukrainian cities. Thanks to the financial support of the Howard Buffett Foundation, in October and November the Cultural Troopers will give dozens of concerts in 22 cities in 13 US states", Markarova said.
The next performance of the Cultural Landing will take place on September 20 at the Museum of the Victims of Communism in Washington, DC.
