The annual banquet in support of UCU in Chicago raised more than $282,000

In St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago hosted its 21st annual benefit banquet in support of Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), raising more than $282,000 and counting. Nearly 200 guests gathered for this special evening to enjoy fellowship, inspiring speeches, great music and the opportunity to support UCU's educational initiatives.

Musicians performed at the event and items of Ukrainian culture, such as paintings and jewelry, were presented. The event was attended by the vice-rector of UCU, Sofia Opatska, who spoke about the university's strategic initiatives and its role in the education and rehabilitation of Ukrainian youth in wartime conditions. The vice president of the University of Notre Dame Michael Pippenger also spoke among the speakers, who shared information about the university's partnership programs with UCU, including the creation of the Ukrainian Study Center and the grant program for the development of Ukrainian academic research.

The organizers of the event, the Chicago Committee of Friends of UCU and volunteers, invested considerable effort in the preparation of this evening. The Foundation expressed its gratitude to all participants, donors and sponsors who supported UCU in its educational mission.
