On December 12, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States and the U.S. Department of State, a special screening of the documentary Porcelain War, winner of the Sundance 2024 Grand Jury Prize in the American Documentary category, took place in Washington, D.C.

The event was attended by Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine Kateryna Smagliy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Nicole Elkon, director Slava Leontiev, film participant Anya Statsenko, and producer Paula DuPree Pesman. The screening was followed by a discussion moderated by David Smith, a correspondent for The Guardian.
The film is one of the most titled documentary projects of 2024 and is on the Oscar longlist. In her introductory remarks, Kateryna Smaliy emphasized the importance of Ukrainian cinema in highlighting national tragedies and in the struggle for independence, particularly in the context of the current russian aggression.
The Embassy of Ukraine expressed its gratitude to the Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affairs of the U.S. Department of State for its continued cooperation.
