U.S. seeks to end the war in Ukraine so that it does not happen again - Secretary Rubio

The presidential administration of the United States intends to end the war in Ukraine so that it will not start again in a few years. This statement was made by the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who noted that ending the Russian-Ukrainian war will be a key priority of the official policy of the United States under the presidency of Donald Trump.

He said in an interview with CBS Mornings.

"This is a war that Russia started, but now it has reached an impasse, a protracted and bloody conflict. It is extremely destructive... Ukraine is paying the highest price for its energy infrastructure, for its people, for the lives lost, for the millions of Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their country and are living abroad. This conflict must end, and it is the policy of the United States, we want it to end," the Secretary of State stressed.

He stressed that the United States will do everything possible to reach a peaceful solution.

"We will make every effort to ensure that this conflict ends in a stable way. That is, we don't just want the conflict to end and then resume in two, three, four years. We want to make sure there is stability," Marco Rubio said.

He added that ending the war in Ukraine will be one of the key issues of US foreign policy.
