"Winter Concert" in Shorewood Raises Funds for Ukrainian Defenders

St. Robert's Catholic Church in Shorewood, Wisconsin, has become a center for inspiring music and charity. It hosted an evening of Ukrainian music called "Winter Concert," organized by the non-governmental organization Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. The event brought together local residents who came to enjoy the vibrant Ukrainian musical performances and participate in an important charitable initiative - raising funds for the Protez Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides prosthetic limbs to Ukrainian soldiers.

This was reported by by the Wisconsin Ukrainians Inc.

The evening's participants had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Ukrainian music and performances by talented artists. The St. Michael's Church Choir, directed by Roman Papushak, the Blossom of Wonder Children's Choir, directed by Nadia Kavyuk, and the Kalyna and Promin dance groups, directed by Caitlin Muhol, created a special atmosphere. And of course the soloists were Tetiana Milyazzo, Misha Litvin, Khrystia Nora, Iryna Yanovska, Yulia Mykolyk and Maria Foyt.

The event also offered light snacks and drinks, which added warmth and comfort to the evening.

The purpose of the concert was to support the Protez Foundation, an organization that provides prosthetic limbs to Ukrainian military and civilians affected by the war. Thanks to the community's concern, all proceeds will be used to help those in need of rehabilitation after injuries. This year's concert was filled with a spirit of unity, support and a desire to surpass the previous result, as last year the community managed to raise $5,000 for the Revived Soldiers Foundation.

"Thanks to the combined efforts of caring people and organizations, we were able to raise more than $12,000. This is a great result. However, we all know that the needs are much greater, and the struggle for Ukraine, as well as to help those who lost their health in this damned war, continues," shared the results of the fundraiser Halyna Zdyrko Salapata.

The event was organized with the support of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church and St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The organizers also expressed their gratitude to Oksana Ovod, Vasyl Ovod, Krystia Nora, Karina Tweedell for their help in organizing the event and to St. Robert's Church for providing the stage.
