In Sammamish, Washington, the Volia Fund and Plateupians for Peace hosted a Ukrainian culinary master class for the American community on making dumplings. The goal of the event was not only to introduce the American community to the traditions of Ukrainian cuisine, but also to raise funds for important projects supporting Ukraine.
The master class was led by Volia Fund board members Yulia Matveeva, Tetiana Novokhatska and Anna Gorodetska. The participants quickly mastered the art of making dumplings, enjoyed the warm, friendly atmosphere, and worked as a real team.
As part of the master class, local volunteer Tetyana Zayka organized a charity fair where authentic Ukrainian artisans sold their products. Funds raised helped cover Starlink debts for Ukrainian units, purchase wheels for an evacuation vehicle, and support the Horse Paradise rehabilitation center in Kyiv Oblast, where veterans undergo therapy with the help of horses.
In addition, participants had the opportunity to taste traditional Ukrainian borsch, learn its authentic recipe and discuss further initiatives to support Ukraine.
"Today's cooking demonstration "Cuisine from around the world - Ukraine" was a great success! Amazing hosts, delicious recipes, a welcoming venue, and everyone with the best energy. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible," said Plateaupians For Peace.
Many guests expressed their support for Ukraine, further strengthening the bonds between the communities. This workshop is a shining example of cultural exchange, charity and sustainability. Through food, fellowship and community, we continue to make a difference in the world.
