New polls from CNN and Quinnipiac show that most Americans disapprove of Donald Trump’s actions regarding the war in Ukraine. About 59% of respondents believe his approach will not lead to long-term peace, while 55% are dissatisfied with how he handles U.S.-Ukraine relations. A significant portion of voters also views his attempts to engage with putin negatively, despite occasional threats of sanctions. Trump’s approval ratings are split along party lines: 77% of Democrats and 68% of independent voters see his actions as harmful to the U.S., while 61% of Republicans support his approach.
