The Dear Road exhibition is under way at the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago, and has become a platform for international dialogue about contemporary Ukrainian art and its role in the global cultural space. The exhibition is open to visitors until March 1.
This was reported by one of the organizers,“We and the World”, the Kozytsky Charitable Foundation.
As is known, the project has become a platform for professional dialogue about contemporary Ukrainian art, its institutional support and the cultural presence of Ukraine in the international context. The exhibition brought together artists, curators, representatives of the museum community and a wide audience of the city, creating a space for discussing the role of Ukrainian culture in the global environment.
“The exhibition is a unique art event that will be an important event for the Ukrainian community of Chicago. The mission of the project is to popularize Ukrainian contemporary art in different countries in order to bring Ukrainians scattered around the world closer to their native country, as well as to introduce a foreign audience to high-quality Ukrainian art. A third of the works have been purchased! It is pleasing to see the care not only in words, but in deeds!”, – said the Ukrainian National Museum. by the Ukrainian National Museum.
The Museum adds that the exhibition was presented by the Doctor of Art History, Professor of the Department of History and Theory of Art of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, Director of the ZENYK ART GALLERY and curator of the exhibition Khrystyna Beregovska.
""I was in Chicago. I did an exhibition there at the Ukrainian National Museum. There were many English-speaking Ukrainians. The vast majority of them were born there. This is our third exhibition in Chicago from We and the World, the Kozytsky Charitable Foundation during the full-scale war."
Special attention within the project was paid to working with children. A specially developed interactive program created an opportunity for the younger generation to get acquainted with Ukrainian culture through play, interaction and creative tasks. This format allows not only to expand knowledge about art, but also to involve children in active participation in the cultural process.
"The exhibition focuses on the image of the road as a multi-valued symbol of the life path, internal movement and the value of home and homeland. Through a combination of personal and collective experience, the exhibition comprehends the modern Ukrainian context, in which the road is not only a metaphor, but also the reality of daily choice and return." - shared his impressions Ukrainian painter Anton Logov.
The organizers invite you to visit the exhibition at the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago and join the cultural dialogue that is unfolding around contemporary Ukrainian art.
