The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of St. Joseph the Betrothed in Chicago has announced the start of its annual parish festival, Uketoberfest. This large-scale event attracts more than 10,000 visitors over two days. Uketoberfest is one of the most popular Ukrainian festivals in America, known for its delicious national food, dances and songs.
This is reported on the page of Uketoberfest.
The event welcomed guests with colorful decorations, a luxurious stage, and performances by stars from Ukraine and the United States, such as TNMK, Mazepa, Vesna, Nerijus, Lonchyna, and U3Zub. In addition, local talents from the Vyshyvanka Dance Ensemble performed this year.
During the festival, visitors could enjoy delicious Ukrainian dishes and participate in numerous folk art workshops.
A particularly touching moment was the greeting of Ukrainian soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in the United States. Guests generously supported Protezfoundation.org a charitable foundation that assists in the treatment of military personnel.
The organizers are raising funds for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including drones, vehicles for the front line and prosthetics for soldiers.
