Ukraine House in Washington, DC hosted a launch of a new book by Ukrainian writer and volunteer Andriy Lyubka, War from the Back. The event was opened by Ambassador of Ukraine to the US Oksana Markarova and moderated by Dr Katia Smagliy, Public Diplomacy Counsellor at the Embassy of Ukraine.

During the discussion, Andriy Lyubka shared his experiences of the early days of the war and talked about his volunteer initiatives that helped him raise more than $1.5 million and deliver 310 vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The writer also discussed the important role of Ukrainian culture during the war, helping to preserve human dignity, provide spiritual support and boost the morale of both military and civilian personnel.
Andriy Lyubka noted that he plans to continue writing non-fiction books to tell the world about the war and the courage of Ukrainians who became true heroes.
After the presentation, Andriy read an excerpt from his book Something is wrong with me and signed copies for the guests. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be used to purchase vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Oksana Markarova thanked Andriy for "an unforgettable conversation about difficult things with humour and love of life" and stressed the importance of cultural support during the war.
