American Surgeon and Philanthropist Receives Order of St. Panteleimon for Helping Ukraine

A ceremony to award the Order of St. Panteleimon was held at the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York. American plastic surgeon Minoj Abraham and the non-profit organization Project CURE received the honorary award for their significant contribution to medical aid in Ukraine.

This was reported by Ukrinform.

The awards were presented by Professor Andriy Bazylevych of Lviv Medical University, Chairman of the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Societies. According to Tetyana Tymkiv, President of the U.S. Foreign Council of the Order of St. Panteleimon, the Order, which was previously awarded only to Ukrainian physicians, has now been extended to the international community, as support from abroad has become extremely important since the outbreak of full-scale war.

Dr. Minoj Abraham, Chair of the American Academy of Plastic Surgery's Face to Face Committee, organized a team of physicians to travel to the western regions of Ukraine to provide assistance, treating one hundred patients with severe facial injuries. Project CURE, which has worked with Ukraine since before the war, has sent $50 million worth of medical equipment since the war began.

The Order of St. Panteleimon is a Ukrainian civic initiative that organizes events to support medical professionals and annually recognizes the best of them.
