On the night of December 25, the Russian invaders launched a combined attack on Ukraine's fuel and energy sector facilities with various types of air-, land- and sea-based missiles and attacked with hundreds of drones. US President Joe Biden on Christmas Day condemned Russia's missile attack on Ukraine, calling it outrageous, and promised to increase military assistance to Ukraine, including air defense equipment.
This was reported by the White House.
"In the early hours of Christmas, Russia launched waves of missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities and critical energy infrastructure. The goal of this outrageous attack was to cut off Ukrainians' access to heat and electricity in the winter and to undermine the security of the power grid," Biden said.
Biden stressed that Ukrainians deserve to live in peace and security, so the supply of weapons, including anti-aircraft missiles, will increase. According to him, the United States is doing everything possible to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in the fight against Russian aggression.
"In recent months, the United States has provided Ukraine with hundreds of air defense missiles, and more are on the way. I have directed the Department of Defense to continue to increase the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and the United States will work tirelessly to strengthen Ukraine's position in its defense against Russian troops," Biden said.
