The US Department of Defense has signed a $253.7 million contract with Williams International to expand the production of precision missile weapons, including for Ukraine.
This was reported by Pentagon.
The contract is funded under the Defense Production Act (DPA) and will be implemented with funds provided by the Indo-Pacific and Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act for 2024. It is designed to increase the production capacity of engines for Harpoon, JASSM, LRASM, Tomahawk missiles and other types of precision weapons.
This initiative will allow Williams International to increase production of gas turbine engines used in precision strike weapons and unmanned systems. According to the Pentagon, this will help meet the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense in the growing demand for advanced weapons, some of which will be provided to Ukraine under military assistance programs.
