This year, the festival attracted hundreds of visitors to the picturesque hills of the Willamette Valley with its lavender scent, handicrafts, family entertainment, and support for Ukraine.
This was reported by the organizer of the event, Helvetia Lavender Festival, and the Ukrainian Foundation.
At the Helvetia farm, visitors could enjoy 60 varieties of lavender, live music, lavender-cutting and wreath-making workshops, and lemon-lavender ice cream, iced tea, mini doughnuts, and Greek, Hawaiian, and Mexican cuisine. Those interested could also visit the Helvetia Vineyards winery and participate in tastings.
Support for Ukraine was a central theme of the festival. Among the more than 30 artisan kiosks were Ukrainian craftsmen presenting their products. The Ukrainian Foundation had its own stand where souvenirs and products in support of Ukraine were presented.
"Thank you very much for participating in the Lavender Festival in Hillsboro last weekend! We continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine," said the Ukrainian Foundation.
Families with children could enjoy the children's area with face painting and bubbles, visit the flower gardens, and take memorable family photos among the lavender fields.
The festival is a joint initiative of the Miller family, the Neighbor Network, and volunteers who organize the event and actively support widows and orphans in difficult situations, particularly in Ukraine and Malawi.
"As the founders of this festival, we stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people — beautiful, brave individuals who have fallen victim to a brutal dictatorship. When one person suffers, we all suffer,” Nancy and her husband emphasized in their address to visitors.
