Kellogg: US may finance arms supplies to Ukraine with frozen Russian assets

The United States is considering using the proceeds of frozen russian assets to purchase American weapons for Ukraine.

This was stated by Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, in an interview with the Fox News.

“We have repeatedly talked about using frozen Russian assets to buy American weapons,” Kellogg said.

He emphasized that such an approach could be part of a comprehensive solution that would both support Ukraine in its war against Russia and help strengthen the U.S. defense industry.

According to Kellogg, while weapons are an important component of achieving peace, diplomatic and economic instruments remain no less important. However, the idea of using Russian assets for Ukraine's defense needs remains relevant.

“Arming Ukraine is still an important element, but it is only part of the picture. The use of frozen assets to finance the purchase of weapons is an option that the President of the United States will consider,” the special envoy added.
