Ukraine and the World: Pressure on Ukraine, Negotiations in Moscow, Military Victories and Criticism of the United States

The situation surrounding Russia's war against Ukraine continues to escalate. European politicians are accusing the United States of blackmail, while a Washington delegation is due to go to Moscow to negotiate a possible ceasefire. At the same time, the Ukrainian military is making progress in air defense with the latest European missile.

EU accuses US of 'blackmailing' Ukraine

European politicians have reacted sharply to the Trump administration's change of course on military aid to Ukraine. A joint resolution of the European Parliament accused the United States of "blackmailing" Kyiv, forcing it to make concessions in negotiations with Russia. The main criticism concerns the delay in military aid and the Trump administration's intention to use it as a lever to pressure Ukraine. The EU called on the US to resume military aid without additional political conditions.

Ukraine needs US intelligence

Ukraine's military command reported, that the lack of intelligence from the United States is seriously hampering defense operations.

The military argues that accurate data on Russian troop movements and air threats used to help Kyiv respond effectively to attacks. The reduction in intelligence sharing following Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump at the White House is forcing Ukraine to look for alternative sources of information. Ukraine is negotiating with Britain and France to expand access to NATO intelligence.

US sends team to Moscow for talks

A high-level US delegation has arrived in Moscow for closed-door talks with the Russian side on a possible 30-day ceasefire.

Russia has not yet given an official response and is awaiting further details on the initiative. Earlier, Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected the possibility of a ceasefire and the deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine.

At the same time, a number of media outlets reported that Putin had allegedly visited the Kursk region in military uniform as a "show of strength." And Trump threatened Russia with new economic sanctions if the Kremlin does not agree to a ceasefire.

Latest weapons

For the first time, the Ukrainian military used the latest European missile to destroy a Russian fighter jet. This is the first confirmed case of successful use of this missile against Russian aircraft. The weapon was delivered to Ukraine as part of the latest EU aid package. This success underscores the effectiveness of European military equipment and Ukraine's need for continued supplies.

Cuts to USAID undermine humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine

As part of a review of international assistance, the Trump administration has drastically reduced funding for humanitarian programs in Ukraine. Programs to assist refugees have been cut, and the restoration of critical infrastructure and medical aid have been reduced. European countries are trying to compensate for these losses, but experts warn of a looming humanitarian crisis. Humanitarian organizations condemn the decision as "irresponsible" and "dangerous".
