Against the backdrop of new international challenges, Ukraine faces the risk of losing its priority in world politics. Zelensky directly points to the insufficient sanctions pressure and the consequences of its relaxation for financing the war by Russia. The West is trying to balance between supporting Ukraine and other crises, in particular in the Middle East. This creates additional tension around the supply of weapons and strategic decisions.
Zelensky said that the West’s pressure on Russia is insufficient
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the pressure from the West on Russia remains insufficient, both from the US and from Europe. In an interview he stressed that Moscow is actually not taking into account the position of European countries, while Washington could act tougher. Zelensky also emphasized that the partial relaxation of sanctions, in particular on Russian oil, is already leading to a significant increase in Russia’s income. According to him, this directly affects the Kremlin’s ability to continue the war.
The President drew attention to the risks associated with diverting international attention to the Middle East. He noted that in such conditions, the supply of weapons to Ukraine may slow down, even if support is not formally stopped. Zelensky stressed the need to mobilize all of Europe to maintain focus on the war in Ukraine. He also emphasized that the war in the Middle East is relegating the Ukrainian issue to the background.
Rutte stressed: the decision on territories belongs only to Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said, that any decisions on the territorial integrity of Ukraine can be made exclusively by the Ukrainian side. He emphasized that all allies seek to end the war, but the key is to achieve a lasting peace with security guarantees. According to him, the peace process has intensified, but its outcome depends on the ability to ensure Ukraine's sovereignty. Rutte emphasized that the issue of territories cannot be subject to external pressure.
He also recalled the agreements on security guarantees reached with the participation of the United States and allies. According to him, these mechanisms should prevent new aggression from Russia after the end of the war. Rutte stressed that security guarantees are a central element of any peace agreement. He also noted that international partners should focus on long-term stability.

Trump commented on possible redirection of weapons for Ukraine
US President Donald Trump said, that the movement of ammunition between different regions is a common practice for the American army. He emphasized that the United States has significant stockpiles of weapons and continues to assist Ukraine. According to him, the transfer of resources can be carried out depending on operational needs. This comes against the backdrop of reports of a possible redirection of part of the aid to the Middle East.
At the same time, NATO confirms that the supply of weapons to Ukraine under the PURL program will continue. Ukrainian representatives express concern about a possible shortage of air defense equipment due to global competition for resources. Despite this, there are currently no official signals about reducing aid. The situation remains dependent on developments in the Middle East.
Russian lawmakers visit the United States
For the first time since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russian lawmakers have arrived in the United States for talks with members of Congress, as Moscow seeks to repair ties with America.
On Wednesday, a Kremlin spokesman and senior Russian officials said that four State Duma deputies had been allowed to travel to the United States, despite personal sanctions imposed on them.
The visit is aimed at “restoring communication without a specific agenda.” In interviews with Russian state news agencies, they have called it a “test meeting” to “see each other, hear and feel.”
