In Charlotte, North Carolina, Ukrainian House celebrated Ukrainian Constitution Day on June 28, combining the national holiday with the end of the school year and the organization’s second anniversary. For the second time in a row, the Ukrainian House team organized a large children’s celebration that brought together Ukrainian families, volunteers, and friends of the North Carolina community.
Ukrainian House co-founder Anna Bondar told Vilni Media about this.
“The Ukrainian House of Charlotte held our second annual children’s holiday dedicated to the Constitution Day of Ukraine. This year, we also combined it with the end of the school year and the second anniversary of the Ukrainian House of Charlotte. The holiday brought together many Ukrainian families, guests, and volunteers. For us, it was a truly special day that once again showed the strength and unity of the Ukrainian community in Charlotte,” said Anna Bondar.
The holiday was open to all who wished. It was attended not only by families studying at the Ukrainian House, but also by Ukrainians from different parts of North Carolina. A rich program was prepared for the children, in which everyone could find something to their liking.
The celebrations began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a greeting from Anna Bondar. She thanked the teachers, parents, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and her family for their joint work, which made it possible to organize a large-scale holiday for Ukrainian children.

A special place in the program was occupied by the celebration of the end of the school year. Students of different age groups presented concert numbers, performed Ukrainian songs, participated in theatrical productions and creative performances. Each student received a diploma, a memorable gift and a personal photo album with the best moments of the school year.
The concert was decorated with solo performances by young artists, and a pleasant surprise for the guests was a dance number by the teachers of the “Ukrainian House”.
After the concert part, the children were treated to a family quest “On the Paths of Ukraine”, themed games, sports competitions, contests, a water fight, as well as free popcorn and ice cream. Numerous entertainment locations were open, where children got acquainted with Ukrainian traditions, symbols and culture.
The day ended with a charity lottery with gifts from partners and sponsors of the event.
The organizers note that the holiday was made possible thanks to a large team of volunteers who helped design the territory, organize children's activities, work in the kitchen and coordinate the program throughout the day.
Teachers, musicians, photographers, designers, entrepreneurs, community activists and representatives of Ukrainian churches joined the preparations, which once again demonstrated the unity of the Ukrainian community of Charlotte. “Ukrainian House” expressed gratitude to all volunteers, teachers, parents, sponsors and partners for their support.
“The second annual children's holiday once again proved that even far from Ukraine it is possible to preserve the native language, traditions and culture, raising a new generation of Ukrainians in love for their country. “Ukrainian House” continues to build a strong Ukrainian community, where children grow up with pride in their roots, and families find support, friendship and a sense of home,” noted Anna Bondar.
