The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), together with the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), is calling on U.S. citizens and the Ukrainian diaspora to express their position to the White House. They ask President Biden to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons to attack Russian territory.
This was reported by the UCCA.
"Russia's genocidal war against Ukraine continues with yesterday's (Aug. 26 - ed.) and today's (Aug. 27 - ed.) missile and drone attacks. Once again, innocent Ukrainian civilians are being killed by Russian terrorism", the statement said.
The UCCA is calling on Americans, especially members of the Ukrainian diaspora, to actively express their support on this issue.
"We urge you to contact the White House and ask President Biden to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia to destroy the aggressor's ability to carry out such terrorist attacks", the statement said.
Instructions on how to contact the White House, a sample letter, and materials for social media distribution can be found here. It is important to note that the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has also expressed the view that there is no need to restrict Ukraine's use of Western weapons.
