USA to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine
Following recent talks between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Vatican, the US has agreed to transfer the first Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
The transfer will mean that Ukraine has a total of 10 Patriot systems, which are mainly used to protect the capital Kyiv from Russian air attacks, one of the largest reinforcements provided by the United States.
Trump: Russia must give up all of Ukraine
US President Donald Trump said, that Russia should completely withdraw its troops from Ukraine. In an interview with NBC News, he noted that Russia is trying to control all of Ukraine, but his administration will not allow that to happen.
Trump also does not rule out the possibility of the United States withdrawing from peace talks in Ukraine if the parties "continue to do stupid things." He said this in an interview with NBC News, commenting on the prospects for ending the war. At the same time, Trump admitted that ending the war may not be possible.
US charge d'affaires arrives in Kyiv
Julie S. Davis, the U.S. charge d'affaires in Ukraine, has arrived in Kyiv. The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine announced her arrival on X, emphasizing the "critical time" for the implementation of Washington's foreign policy.
According to an official statement, Davis will implement President Donald Trump's policy of ending the war and promoting long-term peace and reconstruction in Ukraine. Her visit is also connected with the signing of an agreement on the establishment of the Reconstruction Investment Fund, another step by the United States to support post-war reconstruction.
